Understand people. Make better product decisions.

What does product research do?

What is product research? A practical guide to better decisions
Understand what product research does, how it differs from market research, and which methods answer which questions.
Customer interviews that inform product decisions
A practical interview structure for understanding recent behaviour, workarounds and unmet needs without leading participants.
Questions worth asking.
Is product research the same as market research?
They overlap, but often address different uncertainties. Market research can investigate a market and buying conditions; product research often focuses on a specific problem and experience. A decision may need both.
How much research is enough?
Enough depends on the decision, method, risk and uncertainty. A small qualitative round can reveal issues, but it does not justify a representative market percentage. Define the evidence threshold before collecting data.
